STEVE AUSTIN

Greg Bovell, known in the music industry as Steve Austin, is a Brooklyn-born artist and producer with roots in Panama and Jamaica. A pioneer of New York’s dancehall movement, he launched Full House International and later joined the legendary Earthquake Hi Power, performing alongside icons like Screechy Don, James Bond, and Stevie Irie.

He made waves as a DJ, appearing on Chubb Rock’s album The One with the single Just the Two of Us. His early success as an artist set the stage for even greater achievements within the global reggae and dancehall community. Beyond performing, Steve created and hosted the hit cable show Dancehall World and led the “Make It or Break It” segment on Whaa Gwaan Radio, spotlighting emerging talent.

As founder of House of Muzik Entertainment, Steve has produced acclaimed projects including the London Riddim Series, Dangerous by Light A Fiyah featuring Conroy Smith, and One Turntable and a Mic – Honorees Edition. In August 2025, he celebrated his birthday with a Leo Meets Virgo event alongside Sammy Dread and Tuffest, drawing top reggae and dancehall artists to honor his lasting influence.

He continues to host The New York Experience on Red Hot Radio 102.3 FM, bridging dancehall’s legacy with today’s evolving sound.
